According to The Boy Scouts of America, "The Boy Scouts has always been a uniformed body. Its uniforms help to create a sense of belonging. They symbolize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. Wearing a uniform gives youth and adult members a sense of identification and commitment."

FIELD UNIFORM (CLASS A)

The field (Class A) uniform is not optional, but is to be worn to Troop meetings and to Scouting events as designated by Troop leadership. The Boy Scout uniform consists of the official tan shirt and olive pants. While other civilian clothing may not be stored in the cadet's dormitory room, Scouts are permitted to keep their uniforms in their rooms with their FUMA apparel. The Scout is permitted and encouraged to wear his Scout uniform to the evening meal prior to Troop meetings.

You can purchase the uniform at the online BSA store, other online BSA certified vendors, or at a BSA store in your area. You will need to purchase the numerals 1, 2, and 5, the World Scout Crest Emblem, and green shoulder loops. Council, patrol and rank patches will be provided by the Troop. Troop 125 has elected NOT to wear a Boy Scout neckerchief.  To see placement of patches and insignia, please see the Boy Scout Guide and Uniform Inspection Sheet.

To assist you and your Scout, we can purchase the uniform for you using money from your cadet's personal account. In order to do so, we must have written (email) permission to withdraw the money from his account.

ACTIVITY UNIFORM (CLASS B)

Troop 125 currently uses the FUMA-issue olive green fatigue pants, hat, boots (or athletic shoes), and the FUMA black t-shirt as its activity uniform. We are currently designing a Troop activity shirt with logo to wear for Boy Scout activities and events.

Above are current logo designs under consideration.
